Scott MacKenzies new and exciting NX1 range of rods created by Paul Proctor and the design team at Mackenzie are the next generation from the highly successful and award winning G2 range of Mackenzie rods.  These new 4 piece models incorporate the latest nanotube technology which reduces rod weight and increases overall carbon strength, resulting in improved energy transfer and feel throughout the rod, giving them a real sense of soul. 

Three distinct categories are available in our new NX1 rods designed to achieve the best possible results whether you’re targeting trout on small stream or intimate streams.

The NX1 have been designed with modern anglers very much in mind and are capable of handling all modern lines for achieving optimum performance.   These mid range priced rods use unique tapers and are constructed from high quality carbon.  The NX1 range are finished using an attractive non-flash coating, along with high grade stripper guides and snake eyes all of which are presented in cloth case and triangular sectioned tube.

This is one of our quicker actions that generates high line speeds and pin sharp loops to penetrate stubborn breezes.  A popular rod for those who look to a light line approach on stillwaters though equally at home of broad rivers, especially where larger flies are required, or there’s a need to battle gale force conditions.

A compromise for those who split their time between boat or bank.  This model has sufficient reach to dabble flies when loch style drifting, yet possesses the require authority to cope with headwinds for venturing around lake margins.  Look no further if the light line approach appeals to you.

Still 10' #6

This is the perfect rod when going afloat, especially where a degree of finesse is required.  Ideally suited for working wet flies through wave tops and dibbling them close to a drifting boat.  Equally at home for short to medium range nymph or dry fly fishing where quick and clean casts are needed to target moving fish.

The powerful lower section gives this 10 footer enough backbone to cast long lines from bank or boat.  A blank that’s capable of handling a floating line when dry fly fishing subtleties are in order, yet is able to cope with the arduous task of heaving fast sinking lines to and fro and setting the hook on fish holding deep down.
